The beauty of Tuscany, and the perfect party to race ratio, combine to create possibly the most unmissable cycle event of 2024!
In short, Grinduro Italy is just what the name suggests: gravel road race + mountain bike-style enduro = one long loop of pavement and dirt, where finishing times aren’t based on overall loop time, but four timed segments (each roughly five-to-ten minutes).
But Grinduro is not just a bike race. It’s a weekend long celebration of gravel cycling with as much emphasis on the fun as the ride, with excellent food, an impressive display of art, an incredible bike expo, live music, camping, and a festival atmosphere.
Grinduro Italy is located at Massa Marittima, in the heart of Tuscany. The area, known for decades the perfect destination for those who love bikes no matter the terrain.
Running over the weekend 27-29th September 2024,
Grinduro Italy is located at Hotel Massa Vecchia:
Massa Vecchia, 23, 58024 Massa Marittima GR, Italy. Click here for Google Directions.

In short, Grinduro is just what the name suggests: gravel road race + mountain bike-style enduro = one long loop of pavement and dirt, where finishing times aren’t based on overall loop time, but four or five timed segments.
But Grinduro is not just a bike race. It’s a celebration of cycling with as much emphasis on the fun as the ride, with excellent food, an impressive display of art and incredible handmade bikes, live music, camping, and a festival atmosphere.
The Tuscany route is approximately 100 km long with a vertical drop of 1,500 meters. Climbs, descents, forested gravel roads, and flowing singletrack, interspersed with secondary asphalt roads, providing a two-wheeled adventure that satisfies every gravel grinder.
Grinduro Italy features four timed stages throughout the day for you to race for victory. These demand everything from the participants and the faster overall will achieve podium glory!
Do you prefer less kilometers of gravel grinding? Pick the Grindurito! It’s not quite as challenging, but still a healthy bite of the Grinduro experience. You’ll ride the first loop of the Grinduro course, which is a pleasant signposted 50 km (approximately). The Grindurito ride is not timed, and while it doesn’t include an official awards ceremony, your prize is knowing you had one heck of a fun ride!

Life is about more than riding a bike. Grinduro France features a great music festival with live music and smashing DJs. So prepare for a good party with craft beer, marshmallows at the campfire and hearty food!
The Grinduro Event schedule will be announced prior to event.
We love good food. On Friday you start the weekend with lovely food at one of the food trucks (not included in entry fee) or a pizza in downtown Massa Marittima.
On Saturday you will be pampered with breakfast, lunch and dinner (three course). On Sunday you will end the weekend with a continental breakfast. Vegetarian and vegan options will of course be available.
During the weekend we have a wide range of cold beers, wines and spirits!
You can ride any type of pedal-driven bike (no electric-pedal assist!), although we recommend a gravel bike or hardtail MTB.
The ultimate setup is a disc brake-equipped gravel bike with fast-rolling 40c or wider, tubeless tires and a 1x12-speed crank set. Be prepared with at least two extra tubes, a multi-tool and mini-pump.
There will be feed zones, but smart riders will be self sufficient and bring at least two water bottles and their favourite nutritional supplies. And don’t take to the start line without a helmet on!
Make sure you bring layers — ideally arm/leg warmers and a jacket.
There will be lots of fun volunteer opportunities available, including course marshals, packet pickup assistance, aid station support, and much, much more. Grinduro wouldn’t happen without the help of all you amazing volunteers out there!
You will help us out on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
