The Race
The Race
Gravel sport is celebrated over three days on several gravel tours in the heart of central Switzerland. The races are held in enduro format, a maximum of four sections are ridden in race mode, the rest of the tour can be enjoyed without time pressure. The stages are usually between 10 and 15 minutes long and can have all kinds of characteristics: Uphill or downhill, on asphalt, gravel or even single trail.
Friday: Fun Prolog
On Friday afternoon, the Fun Prologue will take place as a warm-up. A short, challenging round with one stage on asphalt, gravel and trail. The ranking of the Fun Prologue has no influence on the Grinduro ranking on Saturday.
Saturday: Grinduro / Grindurito
The Grinduro round stretches over about 80km and 2,000m. There are four stages to race for the day's victory. These demand everything from the participants.
If you don't dare to do the big round yet, but still want to experience the full Grinduro feeling, you can sign up for the Grindurito. In addition to a shortened route, there is also no timekeeping.
Sunday: Hangover Ride, hosted by komoot
Those who still have enough energy in their legs after the party on Saturday evening can enjoy the panoramic ride on Sunday, led by the komoot team.
Besides the race, the event experience, the party and of course the excellent food are also some of the highlights.

Rules of the Road
Rules of the Road
Be cool, have fun and enjoy the ride. Those are the rules!
For those of you who need things spelled-out, here you have it…
- All riders are required to wear an approved helmet and cannot remove it at any time while riding.
- No support or follow vehicles are allowed. Aid stations will be well stocked and able to handle participant’s needs.
- Riders must ALWAYS obey traffic laws and strictly obey any law enforcement persons or official ride personnel. In the interest of your own safety, you should always assume the same level of vigilance in riding your bike during the event that you would under normal circumstances.
- Headphones/ear buds are NOT permitted during a ride.
- Riders must always respect the directions of all course marshals. If you’re told to stop by a course marshal, moto official, uniformed officer or otherwise, YOU MUST STOP!
- All riders must attend the “riders’ meeting” held at the staging area 15 minutes prior to the event.
- The responsibility of keeping on the prescribed course rests with the rider. A rider may not leave the prescribed course unless escorted by public authorities or a ride official.
- Shortcutting and/or cutting trail switchbacks or course is not permitted and may result in disqualification. A rider is required to stay on the designated route. It is the rider’s responsibility to know the designated ride route. Lack of tape or barriers will not constitute an excuse for cutting the course.
- Laws and ordinances of appropriate jurisdictions shall be observed during participation in the event.
- A rider may be disqualified for damaging or destroying public or private property. A rider may be held liable for all cost associated with the damage or destruction.
- Grinduro officials reserve the right to make changes to the course, delay start times and/or postpone the event as necessary for safety or security purposes or at the request of permit issuers.
Recommended Gear

THE BEST BIKE:You can ride any type of pedal-driven bicycle (no electric-pedal assist!), although we recommend a cyclocross or gravel bike for the Grinduro and Grindurito course. The ultimate setup is probably a disc brake-equipped gravel bike with fast-rolling, tubeless clincher tires and a 2x11-speed crank set. Be prepared with at least two extra tubes, a multi-tool and mini-pump.
The venue is at 1‘400m altitude, it can be very cold especially at night. Make sure you bring layers — ideally arm/leg warmers and a jacket as well as a warm sleeping bag.
There will be feed zones (and an excellent lunch!), but smart riders will bring at least two water bottles and their favourite nutritional supplies.
And don’t take the start line without a helmet on!
Excellent Food
Excellent Food
We believe that bike riders’ health, attitude and performance is directly related to the foods that they eat, so we have amazing food planned for the weekend. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all included with race entry on race day. Though, there will still be more food vendors available for the rest of the weekend.
FRIENDS & FAMILY MEAL PACKAGE
As a registered rider, meals are included on Saturdays and breakfast on Sundays. With the Friends & Family meal package you can also buy the meals for your companion. The package is CHF 85.00 per person and includes the same menus as you as a rider. Eating together is more fun.
Camping
Camping
Do you have a tent? We love campers! There is a designated area right next to the Grinduro Village. And if you are registered to ride, camping is included at no additional charge. Note: A campsite is limited to one tent.
Do you have a camper van or mobile home? No problem - we have our own camping area for vans and mobile homes with electricity. Make sure you choose the appropriate «camper pitch upgrade» when registering.
Note: Wild camping outside the designated areas is not allowed and will be fined.
FRIENDS & FAMILY CAMPING
Got friends and family joining you? They are encouraged to join in the fun. Make sure you get the Friends & Family camping pass. The pass is CHF 30.00 for the whole weekend (Friday-Sunday) and includes a site for 1 tent or vehicle with up to 4 people, plus access to the Grinduro Village, concerts and party, and showers and other services on-site. Friends and family passes can be purchased through the registration link.
