Falls Creek is thrilled to host the inaugural Australian Grinduro gravel festival, presented by Giro and hosted by Cervelo. After two years of postponement due to covid, the event will take place from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th December, featuring 3 days of riding, live music, great food, bike exhibitions and ambassador talks.
The fun starts with the SRAM Prologue 35km ride on Friday, and a post-race 'hangover'ride on Sunday, with navigation partners komoot. The major race, the actual Grinduro, is a 80km loop of gravel, jeep trail and forest roads, will go ahead on Saturday 3rd of December through the Bogong High Plains with 4 timed stages.
This weekend of racing is the perfect opportunity to showcase the gravel riding trails that Falls Creek and the Bogong High Plains have on offer for riders of all abilities.
Participants will wind their way for 80km throughout the Bogong High Plains, showcasing the grand alpine region of Falls Creek, including the refreshing waters of Rocky Valley Lake and the beautiful wildflowers and plants unique to the area. The main stage will take competitors up to the highest drivable point in Victoria – Mt McKay – and back through the mountains, finishing in the beautiful snow gum-spotted village where racers can enjoy the hospitality that Falls Creek is renowned for.
Grinduro will bring live music to the mountains for everyone to enjoy, supported by Bright Brewery and their refreshing beers.
Tickets and accommodation are on sale now on via Humanitix.
